It is located in both Hubbard and Clearwater counties, near the towns of Park Rapids and Akeley. The lake is known for its excellent fishing, with a variety of species including walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish. It also has a sandy shoreline and is a popular spot for boating, swimming, and other recreational activities. In addition to the lake, the surrounding area has numerous hiking and biking trails, as well as opportunities for hunting and camping.
